Want to know how to gain 10 pounds of muscle in 4 weeks? Is it even possible? The answer is yes and in this article, I'm going to show you how it's done.
Ok, there are basically three things you're going to need. The first is a lot of calories. One pound of muscle equals 3500 calories, so an extra 500 calories a day will make you gain one pound a week. In order to have enough calories to gain 2.5 pounds a week, you would need to eat 1250 more calories than you burn every day. You should also have 1.2 grams of protein per day for each pound of bodyweight.
The second thing you need to do is lift heavy. Perform your exercises with a weight that you can only rep 5-7 times. Lifting heavy will activate your fast-twitch muscle fibers, these are the ones for strength and intensity, people who naturally have more fast-twitch muscle fibers are generally more strong and athletic. Work your way up to doing only 3 reps per set with very heavyweight.
The third thing you will need to do is compound or full-body exercises. To gain this much muscle this fast, you are going to need to stimulate as many muscle fibers as possible, this can be accomplished by doing compound exercises. Deadlifts, squats and bench press stimulate the most muscles of any exercise, so focus on those. Doing compound exercises also causes your body to produce more testosterone and human growth hormone which will make you grow even more.
These are the three basic concepts you will need to know in order to gain pounds of muscle fast. Of course, there are many other concepts you can utilize to help your gains.
